Do you actually listen to what someone is saying to you?

Or are you waiting for them to be quiet so you can tell them something?

I was thinking the next time someone asks me how I'm doing, I'm going to say COARSE. And wait for their response.

  • Honestly I don’t always listen, but I know what you mean. I can always tell when someone is actually listening to me or just waiting for their turn to talk.

Course!  I'm not much of a talker unless I have an audience which I seldom have except my poor husband.  I will gladly listen for a while but if they go on and on just wanting to be the center of attention I pretty much stop listening though I try to be polite.

It seems very few people listen for a reply to "how are you".  Or if they do they only hear what they expect to hear.

Them  -"Hi, how are you today"
Me - "I have terminal Paronychia"
    Them - "good to hear."

I would say back to you, "what does coarse mean?" because I actually do listen to people.

Coarse means rough in texture. So, not fine, coarse.

    I answer with "Blessed"

Normally new people will stop for a second and ask "What?" I will say again "Blessed" and then it registers. "Ok, that is good..."
