Have you ever seen a person at a restaurant pick their teeth with a straw?

  • Lol no, the only thing I notice people do that I find odd in restaurants,  is be glued to their phones while sitting with other people. I’m the worst for always being on my phone, but if I’m sitting at a table with someone I never look at it and leave it in my purse.

Oh that is the worst.  Rude. I can understand taking a call of two but staying on - forget about it!

She's in Canada and using the incorrect pronoun is actually illegal, or at least is being tossed about as a law.  I read that a while back.   They will not allow calling a man who dresses up like a woman a man.    I assume people are opting to abandon pronouns  altogether.  Crazy stuff!

As far as correct grammar, his/her is correct since she used "a person" rather than "people."  Their is plural. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at April 18, 2019 6:31 PM MDT

  • There was a Bill Passed June of last year,  and it puts gender expression and gender identity into Canada’s human rights code. It’s intention is to prevent transgenders from being discriminated against. The way the new bill is written, even if someone makes an honest mistake in calling someone by the «wrong pronoun » they could possibly be charged with a hate crime. It’s crazy IMO.

Wow. Like trying end oppression by becoming more oppressive.

Crazy ain't the word.  It's beyond.  Sad state this world is in right now.  This is all about how the few can control the many.

No, but I have seen folks use the shrinktape from a pack of crackers or cigarettes like it was floss...not inside a restaurant but right outside on the sidewalk.  My husband used to pick up toothpicks in restaurants and I always would say "Wait until we get to the car...."
