I heard on NPR this morning, that some clinics in NYC won't even let people suspected of having Measles in the building.
The person has to wait on the sidewalk or outside, and the doctor comes out to them.

Okay - so they aren't contaminating the clinic, but what about the people who have to walk past them to enter the clinic?
Doesn't the clinic still risk contamination that way?

A doctor being interviewed said it's still spreading, because so many people live in apartment complexes.
So one person with the Measles in a common room - or hallway - can spread the contamination to the entire building.

And now I hear that Mumps is on the rise, due to the increase in Measles cases.
Allegedly (according to the reporter) the viruses are somehow related.

Meanwhile ... in the Congo ... health workers are threatening a strike that will shut down just about every hospital in the country.
Why?  Because they are being attacked and killed, so are demanding more protection from citizens. This post was edited by Walt O'Reagun at April 27, 2019 6:30 AM MDT

Heard that the measles virus is one of the most virulently communicable in the world. And they live for at least TWO HOURS. I hope the antivax folks are taking a victory lap. More and more cases will crop up. What eradicated or almost so for TWO DECADES is back again courtesy of them. Maybe that should be on every headstone of the  Antivax folks. I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply Walt.

That hardly sounds like a medical emergency worth mentioning in light of the fact that there are millions of people in this country.

??? So what?  I had measles.  I lived.  So did every kid in my school

What does that prove except that vaccination against Measles is not a major concern.

That is negligible.  When the AIDS virus had only 700 cases, no one even knew it was a menace.  The vaccinations against whatever else they are vaccinating against are the ones we need protection from.

Thank you for your reply. You are dismissing this as being negligible. SIGH.
