Is the NRA on its last legs? BLeeding money allegedly and under scrutiny for funnelling Russian money to the Don campaign. Wanna save 'em ?

As it happens I guess the prez is gonna go address them. How many billions would it take to bail them out I wonder? Early on in the olden days it allegedly started out as an organization of gun owners and wasn't a political weapon used to threaten folks to stay in line. Why when or how it changed into what it is today I do not know. So how many gun loving billionaires out there wanna give a $100 million each to save it?

It probably changed around the time of the Gun Control Act of 1968.
The same regulations had been considered before that ... but Congress rejected them because of their ties to the gun control laws of Germany.
    (Weimar Republic, not NAZI Germany)

Interesting tidbit ... the German gun regulations under the NAZIs were actually loosened for "reliable" citizens, while made stricter for "undesirable" citizens.

Anyway, when firearm ownership became a national issue rather than local ... the NRA was the only national organization with broad support.  IE: It wasn't just for hunters.
