Discussion»Questions»Human Behavior» Often, or maybe almost always, procrastination has negative consequences. Have you ever had a good outcome after you had procrastinated? ~
And perhaps the conclusion we can draw from my post and your comment thereto is that "Procrastination does not always result in not good outcomes---at least not immediately."
(Yes I caught the "will be dire repercussions"---cute.)
Yes, there have been times when my husband wanted to order things and I put it off for one reason or another. And we ended up not needing it or I found it for a better deal.
Yes. One time several years ago, the cat litter box in my house needed emptying. I absolutely hated having to empty that thing, so I kept putting it off (yes the cats complained). Yet, because of my procrastination, my dog discovered a new treat called "Kitty Roca". Now, not only am I feeding the dog less food (a big money saver), but I also don't have to clean out the cat box anymore. Who says procrastination doesn't pay?
Yep. Sometimes, if you put it off long enough, it resolves itself. I have a "to do later" stack on my desk. The "to do later stack" is a by-product of retirement. It's amazing how much I never have to do because it resolved itself or the drop-dead date has passed. Either way, it works out just fine.
