With English grenades you have to be primed or armed first Rosie when before they are ready for use.....you then pull the pin and release a sprung arm and then count so many seconds before you lob it at some one.....leave it to long and it will go bang in your hand.....throw it to quick and you might get it back....:(
You can put the pin back as long as you have not released the arming arm thingy.....Grenades can all be deactivated by unscrewing the bottom and twisting a thingy inside.....Sorry about my technical descriptions..... Not every one know what thingys are until they are shown.... :)
Thank you for your very informative and helpful reply D. I appreciate it. I think the sb prez had the pin pulled before he ran for prez. Some safeguard to his exploding is missing. I awaken each day wondering if we are wr yet? He will explode. When I don't know. But he is so erratic unstable and out of control it is inevitable. What he takes with him when he explodes we won't know until it happens. Until then we wait. Happy Tuesday sweetie! ((hugs0) I have no problems with "thingies". I can visualize a thingy by your description of the location. I just hope I never have to see one in person. Ya know?
I wonder how much longer his high wire act will last before he slips and flips and crashes to the ground? He has always worked without a safety net. How much longer will his "luck" hold? Thank you for your reply D and Happy Friday to thee! :)
At first, the grenade was fitted with a seven-second fuze, but during combat in the Battle of France in 1940, this delay proved too long, giving defenders time to escape the explosion or to throw the grenade back, so the delay was reduced to four seconds.
Yes, you can put a pin back into the grenade. ... That lever on the side is the firing mechanism and until it comes off, the grenade won't activate.
Thank you for your very informative and helpful reply tom as well as the link. When was the pin pulled outta the sb prez? From birth? He lives on borrowed time as do we. Happy Friday to thee! :)
