It needn't work "entirely alike in all matters" bw. If they work alike enough to never have to explain what you mean then that is quite alike enough to suit meself completely. I have been fortunate to encounter more than one such soul in my lifetime. For me t'is indeed a blessing. Being a square peg in a round hole my entire life it's comforting to me to know there are other square pegs too and we get long very swell. Thank you for your reply. I hope I do, but I doubt it. Both my parents were misfits; they raised me as one. I'm more than averagely articulate, up in the top 3% in language skills.
I enjoy the differences and multiplicity in the world. It keeps thinking active.
My thinking is often unconventional, a mix of logical, lateral and ethical. I do my best to listen, to understand, to try to penetrate below the surfaces. People rarely mistake the meaning in my words, but that doesn't necessarily translate to sharing views, values or tastes. The closest I get to compatibility is with my husband - but he is forgetful, inarticulate and slow in thought - it makes the relationship very hard work. It gets very lonely at times.
It depends on where you find those minds. If they are all happy and content and being spoonfed by minders, maybe it is not something to be proud of.
I am not what other people think of me. I don't measure my worth by what other people think do or say as a rule. My worth has nothing to do with my many friends. Some of them are brilliant. Some are not. All are worthwhile. They all matter and they all have value. I am not smart because I have smart friends. I am smart because I happen to have a high IQ.
It is divinely fine and so far I have only found one mind that works exactly like mine. It can actually be a bit spooky because sometimes I think that he is my Siamese twin and we were separated at birth then stolen by gypsies. And even though he was stolen by Irish gypsies and I was stolen by Ukrainian gypsies we both grew up to have minds that work the same. Cheers!

I for one would have loved to be within earshot of those conversations. Assuming of course there was no personal stuff being discussed. I don't eavesdrop on private conversations. Not my cuppa tea. It would be like being in a seminar. I night even take notes! Thank you for your reply tom! :)

One of my co-workers was studying to be a minister. We were discussing theology when a manager who knew us both walked by and then gave also gave us a wide birth with the comment about brain power.
My son and I were once discussing which position of a beer can in a particular freezer would produce the fastest cooling of the contents.
His first degree is EE, and mine is theoretical physics. (It kinda got quiet in the room.) It's fun.
I explained the probable nature of angels to my sister-in-law some years ago---it really opened her mind.
