I've always found it strange that the USA (or at least the conservative element) is so proud of its guns, so hooked on violence in films and video games, and so comfortable with manufacturing and selling arms abroad to countries like Arabia which then use those same arms to cause atrocities like genocide in Yemen.
And yet
when it comes to sexuality and the sexual aspects of love, America recoils as if squeamish - retreats into the private haunts of the dark web with obsessive addictions - as though sex automatically equates with filth. It makes something beautiful and sacred into something shameful.
If religion is responsible for that, then I'd rather ban religion.

President Obama was excoriated by some when he commented on the absolutely true fact that some people are wedded to their Bibles and their Guns. I guess the truth hurts. The gun people are not all alike. Some are reasonable sane and thoughtful. The press though focuses on the obsessed fanatics and they exist in all walks of life. In the Obama years when a another gun-related slaughter or massacre occured ya know what the gun people did? Rush out to buy more guns because they believed a Dem prez would confiscate their guns. Gun sellers loved the massacres/slaughter! Their sales shot dramatically up. The NRA loved massacress/slaughters. They'd get national attention for their creepy dedication to owning guns. There is no such thing as having "enough" guns. The more the merrier. The more the better. Many of them despise any restrictions on who can own them or how deadly they are. The bigger the magazine the betterer they love them. So that is America. Guns and Bibles defines us. Period. I am however not restricted to remaining silent or not speaking my mind and I don't really care that the gun bible folks dislike what I say. I figger I've done OK so far. Why stop? It is humiliating beyond endurance that we have a self-described demented-to-the-max "extremely stable genius" scumbag corrupt criminal prez. Those who adore him are beyond my understanding. He has undone centuries of good things that America used to represent. He will continue to be the perfect little lapdog puppet for Putin and court jester world clown for Kim. He is so obtuse he has no clue what he is. His "supporters" perpetuate the myth he has created in his own mind. What Fate has in store for them I cannot imagine. Yet we continue on against all odds hoping something will change or someone will come out of the shadows and change things. Hope is eternal? Where there is life there is hope? Still?
