what do you wish you had done differently as a child

I wish I had listened more closely to the small, quiet, innocent, voice of light within my own child-like spirit, instead of the cacophonous, bellowing of darkness that often surrounded.and threatened to crush me.  If I had only known my own worth.  If I had only known my own strength.  But "If Only" is a wasteland filled with the sharp edged rubble of regret and I refuse to loiter there.   I have found who I am, and where I exists now is a place of wonder and freedom.

(in less poetic terms...I should have told more people to F*CK off.)

I wish I hadn't started working at age 13 and had gone into sports.

I wish I had the courage and honesty to have come out as gay earlier in my life.

Fought with my sister less.

Wish i'd used some kind of ear protection when we cut our winter supply of firewood with a buzzsaw. Most likely cause of my hearing impairment.
