Nah. I don't think so. I think if you won't climb up stairs and are terrified to look down, you have a condition. But just scared of heights? Not so bad.
I am very scared of going too fast. I don't like roller coasters. I won't go on them, but I don't have a real phobia. I would willingly go on one, for example, if I was offered enough money. So it is not crippling like a phobia often is.
And as far as being on time? It just pays off. I hate the feeling of being late, everything starts to go off and gets confusing, and it is just a great practice to get into. I am a HUGE fan of being on time. I will go out of my way to be early rather than be late for just about anything, but I would call it more of a neurotic tic than a phobia.
Years ago I was in a group of people touring a Kaiser steel plant. At one point it required walking up stairs to a landing and looking down on the operation. I couldn't do it. As I began to climb up the stairs my knees got all wobbly. So I never made it up there. Now the stairs were the type that you could look down through them to the floor below. They were not carpeted and closed as stairs are in a home. They were open. Perhaps had they been carpeted like stairs in a two-story house I might have been able to do it. As for being late I have occasional nightmares about it. Thank you for your reply Sharon.
