I don't think this country is any better than any other country. I think we are a good country. I think we have VERY FEW moments to be proud of as a unit. There are far too many wounds to heal and there are far too many people lost, downtrodden and forgotten for me to feel much more than sadness at all moments.
We could and should be so much more by now. I lived through the 60's which were a CRY to the 50's to wake up. NO ONE WOKE. IT IS WORSE.
So, no I am not proud of much. I am proud that we as a people manage to be normal and happy and try to be good to one another as a rule, but that is kind of unusual news these days. Most of the news is the truth. Most of the news is about division and dissent and it is world-wide and America is being a bad-actor on the stage because our world leader is a PIG.
I was brought to tears of joy when we the people elected President Barack Obama for the first time. Also when we re-elected him to a second term. I have never been prouder of my country than that. Thank you for your reply Sharon. Different strokes.
It was when one of the boxing Foxes wanted me to sell him a couple of my prescription pain killers. Instead I gave him a lecture on people abusing the Canadian health care system. After the lecture I thought he might punch me in the head for talking down to him but instead he told me that he will always remember me as the most Canadian person he ever met. Cheers and happy 4th of July!
Who or what is "the boxing Foxes" Nanoose? Good for you for holding firm to a principle which is NEVER SHARE YOUR PRESCRIPTION MEDS WITH ANYONE. Thank you for your reply m'dear! :)
