So this little animal who walks around deaf dumb blind and stupid for our uses should not be used for the ultimate advantage of food?

I'm not sure which animal is deaf, dumb, blind and stupid.

Most animals have the intelligence they need to survive, thrive and propagate in their natural environment under normal conditions.
Most animals are aware, have feelings, and want to live.

But scientists are very close to developing vat-grown meat-like proteins.
Imagine it - no nervous system - no capacity for consciousness or sentience.

Perhaps these will be the meats of a future when no sentient being need suffer for human pleasure.
The potential would be to end the methane contributions of animal husbandry to global warming.
But we'd have to take care that meat-like substances had no added hormones or antibiotics.
And we'd need to ensure the industry didn't create a whole new set of pollutions during manufacture.
