Anyone familiar with Yiddish? What is the opposite of Mensch*?

*Mensch

A decent upright mature responsible man

Pence is close enough to Mensch I was tempted to use it but white picket fence dense pence is the opposite of a Mensch. Is there a flip version of Mensch?

Funny you should mention that. A long time ago I worked with a gal who used her maiden name at work. It was at a bank and in the Boyle Heights area of L.A. where many of our customers were Jewish. Her Married name was Joan Schmuck. I swear it. She said that she could not use that name at work because it would be very offensive to our Jewish customers. She said she thought it was an epithet but didn't know exactly what it meant. I just looked it up. The first definition is an obnoxious person or contemptible person. I think you might know what the other definition of it is. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday to thee E! :) Geez I was a 16-year-old summer temp! Wow. That was a VERY LONG TIME AGO!

Perhaps at that time it meant something else. I saw the same 'other' definition, too, but I have never heard it used for that.

I don't know either E. Joan just told me that it would offend some people and I gathered it was a really bad epithet. I never pursued it. Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday to thee! :)
