    If the Gov. can spend billions on sending a probe to Pluto the 9th planet it should not give up on sick people, Whoa!

    Of course not that would be ridiculous, Don't be a quitter new things are learned every day about cancer and we can cure many cancers as a result.

    You are sounding fatalistic and hopeless for no sensible reason.

    According to the American Cancer Society, the rate of cancer deaths in USA peaked in 1991 and had gone down 23 percent in the ensuing 21 years leading up to 2012, the most recent year for which statistics were available.

    Even with no magic-bullet cure for all types and stages of cancer, the chipping-away process of that time represents progress.
