Is most ordinary thought unconscious ?

    Yes. But it is not "thought" per se.  It is more like stream of consciousness threads.  And, if you are really healthy, you get into periods of "no-thought" at all.  You are not zombified. You can drive, you can function, but your internal dialogue is still.  That is all.  And it opens you.   You get to allow.  You are not running the show and defining everything mentally.  You are, in effect, shutting up.  And that gives a glorious result.  Problems clear up, Obstacles are better managed, simply because the ego/mind is not running the show and intuitive thought is.  I think it is connecting with one's higher consciousness.     Some is.
    Most is conscious, but driven by unconscious processes.

    It is possible to become conscious of the unconscious conditioning, drives and reactions via training and daily practise of meditation.
