That Belo rag is in deep tapioca, financially. No revenue growth for the last 5 to 6 years. (Belo even sold their flagship TV station in Dallas, WFAA, to TENGA (formerly Gannett) a couple of years back.
My guess is that they're trolling for an angel investor to bail them out, or maybe they already have one like Carlos Slim, the Mexican billionaire that bailed out the New York Times to gain a political voice in the USA.
That's sort of kinda what I was going to say. :)
