Can you think of a song from the past that would now be considered offensive by some folks and would not be allowed to be aired?

    HA!

I was just listening to this the other day, and thinking the same thing.
    What about Bridget the Midget?

  • OMG!

This popular disco song in which they mention needing to get away
and find a place with no blacks, no Jews, and no gays.  LOL!
Jesus Christ!  What's left?  A bunch of mind numbing red-necks and WASPS?

I need another drink and then I'm gonna play this one louder.

    THE 70'S!
    what were you people thinkin'?

There but for the Grace of God Go I

Carlos and Carmen Vidal just had a child
A lovely girl with a crooked smile
Now they gotta split 'cause the Bronx ain't fit
For a kid to grow up in
Let's find a place they say, somewhere far away
With no blacks, no Jews and no gays

    Chorus:
There but for the grace of God go I

Poppy and the family left the dirty streets
To find a quiet place overseas
And year after year the kid has to hear
The do's the don'ts and the dears
And when she's ten years old she digs that rock 'n' roll
But Poppy bans it from home

    Chorus

Baby, she turns out to be a natural freak
    Popping pills and smoking weed
And when she's sweet sixteen she packs her things and leaves
With a man she met on the street
Carmen starts to bawl, bangs her head to the wall
Too much love is worse than none at all

    Chorus

Very offensive...TO MY EARS. An awful pointless piece of crap not really recognizable as any form of music. THANKS A LOT. It wouldn't stop playing.

  • You're just saying that because you're Jewish.
    Oh wait...I'm gay.  LOL!
Let's forward this on to Randy.

Best song ever from the Underground disco era.
I do not see this amazing song as offensive whatsoever. In fact, it is anti-bigotry and how Carlos and Carmen Vidal's own acts of intolerance end up contributing to their own child's downfall.
I love this song. Always have

Not so long ago, relatively speaking- -

    Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing"

     " . . . that little 'm'aggot' . . . "  three times  :)

oh, well -- I like the song - - I've heard sometimes on the radio that entire verse taken out
    :)

    Money for Nothing
Now look at them yo-yo's, that's the way you do it
You play the guitar on the MTV
That ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Money for nothin' and your chicks for free
Now that ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Lemme tell ya, them guys ain't dumb
Maybe get a blister on your little finger
Maybe get a blister on your thumb
We got to install microwave ovens, custom kitchen deliveries
We got to move these refrigerators, we gotta move these color TV's
See the little faggot with the earring and the make up
Yeah buddy that's his own hair
That little faggot got his own jet airplane
That little faggot he's a millionaire
We got to install microwave ovens, custom kitchen deliveries
We got to move these refrigerators, we gotta move these color TV's
    We got

    Looky looky yonder

    Looky looky yonder

    Way above her knee.

    Looky looky yonder
    Looky looky yonder
    Where the sun done gone.

    [I's just] walking
    [I's just] walking
    [I's just] walking
    All day long.

    [She's] been talking
    [She's] been talking
    [She's] been talking
    Babe, all day long.

    Looky looky yonder
    Looky looky yonder
    Looky looky yonder
    Where the sun done gone.
