    That is a power I would not want.  There are too many variables that one cannot foresee.  Sure, it may appear at the moment to be beneficial (eother to oneself or to others), but events are like dominos... knock one down and the rest follow (whether one wanted then to or not).  Take one out of sequence and the others won't fall (whether one wanted then to or not).
