Is that "Insert" button PURPOSELY put where it is on the keyboard to drive people insane?

I have NEVER wanted to use it (I don't even think it's a useful option) - - but it is SO close to buttons we DO need to use that I accidentally hit it relatively often and I'm then, like, "Wth? Where are all my letters going?"

:)

Hey -- I'm not getting ANY 'alerts' to this question- - it happens often to me now -- I often do not receive alerts if I, myself, have asked the original question/post. i eventually get to them/see them though.

I will catch up with you all later - - feel free to tell Twinkle Dink, too, I only now just see a bunch of new posts from you both, ha! They all look fun!
    Later!
    Be Well - -

    Hi Jonny!
Was 'signed in' to the site but never looked. Now I have to run - - I'll catch up again later.
    :)

Yes!! That's the picture! :) For some reason, I "added" a streetlight to the picture in my head, ha! (See my other earlier post) Yes, I like this photo a lot, too! Pure joy in what they're doing! And the setting is so cool -- the street and buildings and vehicles. Love it. Thanks for reposting it!
    :)

And, yeah - - that first video performance of Melanie up there that we talked about. Wow. And when I listen to the other, like I said, I'll let you know.
    Got to run --
    be well

I like that song and her singing it. Or did someone else have a big hit with it? I don't know -- this sounds like the one I've heard. I am just nor recognizing her name at the moment.

Wait - - idiot again, me, that is.  Is "Melanie's" last name "Safka," like it says in Twinkle Dink's video post? I guess I never knew Melanie's last name. (Or what she looks like.)
    :)

You know Melanie?  I work with "kids" in their 20's who don't know who DEVO is.

  • You wouldn't believe the stuff Jon knows.  Why else do you think we're such a good match.  He can do the important thinking and that frees up all my time to be the pretty one.  LOL!  Seriously though, his main area of expertise is Cinema.  He's like some sort of savant where that's concerned.  He's also always blowing my mind with his knowledge of computer tech.  About all I knew how to do before i had him to lean on was look up porn and shop at amazon.  He also loves music.  We have that in common for sure.  He's actually the one who filled me in on who that Melanie chick is.  I'd heard of her before from my old apartment manager who would sing that song occasionally, but I knew nothing significant at all about the artist.  Jon has introduced me to soooo many things that I'm afraid if my brain grows anymore its gonna push my hair right out of their follicles.  Oh...and I know for a fact he knows about DEVO too.  He's the total package, baby.

You slather me with so much praise honey, I barely recognize myself. I will tell you that the next time I Fap, I shall appreciate myself more than I have done so before. Wowsers!
You are no slouch yourself. You have shown me, unconditional love.
Your knowledge and love for music fills me with joy. I have learned so much from you. Not only that, you helped a stray find his way back to God. I knew he was there but I was lost.

And finally, your prose. your writings melt me. You possess a gift. You are a storyteller who captures your audiences; sweeping them away. You have blanketed me with poetic verse when I was heartbroken and sad when I wanted to feel something. You make me feel that which I thought was lost so very long ago. Each word is a brushstroke on my heart and a breath of life into my soul. You filled the child which hides bashfully and fearfully within me with merriness and gaiety.
You are no slouch, snickerdoodle This post was edited by Jon at September 3, 2019 8:42 PM MDT

Yes, dear, I know full well who Melanie is.
I adore her and she may very well be THE most underrated musical artyist in modern music and my personal favorite female vocalist.  Her singing is supernatural and superb. She is an angel

This all seems to be blowing your mind, Sharona.
Should we take up a collection to send you for Psychotherapy? LOL

Perhaps you know of this, "Lay Down". It was the essential hippie anthem of the 60s. Gloriously powerful and moving, this piece puts a lump in my throat. Melanies voice is extremely powerful and moving. I hope you enjoy this. Do a search on Youtube, Welby..there are some interesting videos. I'm posting two of the same song. One is a live version and the other is the studio version with a stylistic video from the day...

Oh, nice -- these look good. I know of that Lay Down song but I haven't truly ever really paid attention. I will do that here.

I think I'm going to get some other work done now that  I need to do, though, I'm sorry to say. The last couple of days have seemed like, by the time I get to the end of the day, I feel like, 'Boy, I'm tired . . ." and then I can't even remember what I've accomplished during the day. Ha
    :)

Thanks Jonny- - I will post here and let you know, after I listen to these!
    Be Well!

I've been eating some lunch here and watching and listening. to the top video.
    Some tears in my eyes.
    This was so beautiful.

Just everyone there - - she, the background singers, the pianist/choir leader (maybe), eventually the audience is shown --

    from start to finish  -

     - all is good there

I'll listen to the other one later. Doesn't take much at the moment today, I guess, to get me emotional, a good-type of emotion for sure here. I'll let you know when I listen and watch that one, too.

    Thanks, Jonny. :)

Wow -- I just watched and listened to the second video you posted of Melanie's "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)"

no words other than she took me away completely. In some ways a different experience than the other video/ performance. Both are great (for lack of a better word, brain is going off a bit now, ha)!

And I find her gorgeous, too.

Can't add much of anything more at the moment. I'm glad you posted both of these videos -- I really enjoyed them both. Thanks!

(Hey, and no more adorable child photos of you - - I'm feeling inadequate. ha! Not really, ha; but cute pictures of you! At least, they look like you based on other ones I've seen on the site/avatars)

Welby, I am so happy you enjoyed them! She is an extremely beautiful person inside and out!
She is 72 now. I saw recent pictures of her. She is somewhat grey but still beautiful!

Thanks!!!  I was cute as a child. I promise you I grew out of it. LOL
