Not at all - my mother was the kindest person I have ever known, her eyes were so pale a hazel they were almost green. Blue eyes do it for me, though ...
Wilt thou love me, sweet, when my hair is grey And my cheeks shall have lost their hue? When the charms of youth shall have passed away Will your love of as old prove true?
For the looks may change, and the heart may range And the love be no longer fond. Will you love with truth in the years of youth And away to the years beyond?
Oh I love thee, sweet, for your locks of brown And the blush on your cheek that lies, But I love you most for the kindly heart That I see in your clear blue eyes.
For the locks may bleach, and the cheeks of peach May be reft of their golden hue, But mine own sweetheart, I will love you still For as long as your eyes are blue.
For the eyes are signs of the soul within, Of the heart that is leal and true, And mine own sweetheart, I will love you still For as long as your eyes are blue.
Whoa and wow R! During all the years we've chatted I believe this is the first time you contributed a poem on a link of mine. Now you know I've told you that when you talk about Maureen it is almost ALWAYS in poetic terms. I'm a sap for those replies. I read this poem and will read it again and probably again. Thank you for sharing this with us. My wish would be that all couples could love each other as you love Maureen. I know a few whom I think do but I also know the other kind. Merci mille fois! :)
