Your daughter dates a boy you cannot stand, plays music you cannot abide and wears clothes that make her look like a slut. Why?

She seems to enjoy going out of her way to defy you and purposely does what she knows angers you.

Does she hate you?

Freedom of choice as she is an individual .......it could be worse ,you might all live in China and be forced to become a clone
With the situation you surgest, there is every chance that she will grow out of it....lol
on the other hand ,once turn into a brain washed robot ,she would have no chance at all..

If you are a muslin family in China ,your babies are taken from you because you are viewed as terrorists....the babies go to orphanages for abuse and the parents go to concentration camps for reeducation....there are millions of people held in such camps over there ...but China is to powerful to confront over it ,so the world has to sit back and let it continue ....

Thank you for your reply D and Happy Wednesday to thee. Well I don't have a daughter and my son's friends were/are tops. If there were anything that troubled me or bothered me we talked it out. ALWAYS. He did not get kicks out of upsetting me or worrying me. Someone said that she would do something just because others said she couldn't. I thought it an odd reason to do anything but perhaps that is the catalyst for achievement. Being told you can't do it so you set out to prove that you can. I shall ask. I know one thing for sure. I am NOT a fan of competition. Many are. Why I cannot say. :)

I'm no fan of any sport Rosie ...who cares who wins at playing any ball game...it's a child's fun game and nothing else...
An artist that can paint any likeness accurately or sculpturer that can carve rock or wood are amazing ....clock makers of yesteryear that made every part by hand ...people that can repair anything, more so nowadays with such surfisticated electronics.....
These  I admire and look up to

If you had a son who played a sport you would be a fan D. I guarantee that. If I did not have a son who was invested in Little League Baseball and basketball I would have stayed away from all sports too. BUT and it s a very big BUT. When your child delights in something you will too. When he was teenager I was VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE about all the pro basketball teams and could talk intelligently about them because I WAS INTERESTED in what interested him. Same thing is true of tennis and golf. I didn't care about either sport until I met Jim who plays both. The result? I ENJOY watching the professional golf and tennis tournaments with him and I can speak knowledgeably and intelligently about them. I don't play but we've been together 22 years and so I have learned a lot because of him I would never have been interested in knowing about The sports all involve balls D and I believe your saying any game with a ball is for children is because you are not knowledgeable enough about what it takes to play a game well. Perhaps you are cut from a different cloth and do not get interested at all in what interests your loved ones. I can only speak for me. Thank you for your reply. "A child's fan game" is insulting of course to those adults who enjoy games played with balls. I expect insulting is not your intention. I am just reflecting back to you what I feel FYI. And if you care. This post was edited by RosieG at September 4, 2019 5:05 AM MDT
