Nope.  They disapproved because it was me.  Sharon.

    Sort of, they disapproved of:

    1. My Nationality - US
    2. Age difference - I'm older
    3. My Dogs
    4. I am divorced, so is their daughter
    5. I am a recovering Catholic, so is their daughter

They are very accepting of the fact we are together now and are doting Grand Parents.  They also changed their attitude when they discovered I would not drain their daughters assets.

Ah, yes, I suppose you have. Long time no see, old friend. ;)

I'm dating again and went out with a guy a few times. For whatever reason, he told his mother about me and she's ticked because I'm the "wrong" religion. It caught me off guard because I've never personally experienced that and didn't realize it happened in the US.

Of course it happens in the US, it happens in many parts of the world. I guess you thought that “in this day and age” it wouldn’t, couldn’t, or shouldn’t happen in the US, but remember, with over 300 million people, the vast variety of ideals, attitudes and opinions cover wide spectrums.

I did think that and I do. lol

To be fair, I somewhat expect it from groups with less education or those who live in their own little worlds. I didn't realize it was happening within educated and otherwise intelligent and tolerant societies.

lol Your mother would die if you dated me. Die! I'm not only a divorcee with kids, but the wrong class, wrong nationality, and wrong religion. Plus, I could not give her adorable little half-Indian babies. She would never forgive you. Or me. LMAO I can't live with that kind of pressure.

I'm going to die an old maid! lol

No. I was referred to as a "breath of fresh air."  My husband's ex was something else.
