#OldPeople
I'm so old I remember when tee shirts were underwear, not bumper stickers for people!
And chrome horn rings in cars started to fade out?
Actually I don't remember when I first became aware of stickers, but I was aware of decalcomania. They were sold in every five & dime store and they were almost exclusively flowers. A decalcomania, commonly called a decal, was printed on paper with a layer of water glue. You would soak it in water for a minute or two and then slide it off the paper and onto whatever surface you wanted to have flowers, usually a dresser or hutch, but often a hope chest or some other piece of furniture that didn't get used much. Decals did not stand up to wear. But for a small coin you could turn your drab painted surface or bare wood into a drab surface with a colorful flower. Until very recently, people just did not appreciate wood grain. Their lives were filled too d*m MUCH wood grain!
Decals are unknown now. I can't even find an illustration at google!
I think models came with those.
No, but it is awesome.
You're right. Model airplanes and boats.
There was a local company here that made decals for industry. They are long gone.
