It could NEVER happen but it did. We elected a CATHOLIC and an AFRICAN AMERICAN MAN to lead our country. How about a WOMAN?

I dunno. We're so far behind that curve it is HUMILIATING. Other countries are so far ahead of us in electing a woman as the chief boss and decider. We are pathetic  wannabe also-rans but maybe this next election we can redeem ourselves and start playing in the bigs instead of the lousy farm teams in the sticks. Ya think? We already did it TWICE.

    Several women have run for President over the years. If you are interested in who they were and the political party they represented, here is a list.

    Today in the United States almost 51 percent of the population is female. Several women hold political office today but why haven't any women been elected President or Vice-President for that matter? I really don't know. That being said, if a woman ran for President that I feel would be the best person for the job and would have the country's best interests at heart, I wouldn't have a problem voting for her. Obviously others, Republican and Democrat, don't feel the same way for reasons known only to them. Which is why a woman has never been President. Will a woman ever become President? I don't know that either. We will have to wait and see.

    Seems to be implying that we should elect a woman, just for the sake of gender equality.
    I don't believe "affirmative action" is why we elected JFK (Catholic) or Obama (Mulatto) or Buchanan (homosexual).

    And since the general American public don't decide who runs ... the major fault of women being "oppressed" from Presidential elections, lies with their Party leadership. 

    The average American voter who rejected Hillary didn't do so because of her gender.  They did so because of her beliefs.

    Of course, I could also claim that - since 3rd Parties often have women run - we should blame the media for not "getting behind" those female candidates.  It sure appears the media only supports female candidates belonging to the major parties.  But I guess that's fair, since they do the same to male candidates.

    I'd love to see a female billionaire seriously run as a 3rd Party candidate.

    Apologies for butting in but I can't not speak up Sharon. I always thought Jackie O was a lightweight snob. All surface glamor and glitz but no substance there. She married Aristotle Onassis after all. She LOVED money and status and privilege and wealth. Compare her to other First Ladies and you will see how little she contributed substantively. She was all about glamor and that has never been my cuppa tea. Different strokes.

    It is not about gender/race/color/etc  POLICY is the only thing that should matter.  

    I would vote for many female candidates....the ones I would support you would oppose and vice versa.

    Sallyann Conway, Sarah Sanders, Sarah Palin, Dr. Laura, Ann Coulter? Anyone I missed that would be on YOUR list? Thank you for your reply m2c. Not that I disbelieve you but I seriously doubt you would ever bring yourself to vote for a woman. You have a thing for chump that's very strong.     Nikki Haley, Mia Love, Candace Owens, Marsha Blackburn, Jan Brewer etc.  I would have no problem voting for these women.  Why would supporting President Trump interfere with that? The Trump adminstration has appointed more women to power than any other in history.
