You can cure ignorance with knowledge/information. You can't cure dumb. Here's the thing. Isn't there some dumb in ignorance?

Those who refuse the cure and prefer to maintain ignorance are kinda dumb for having that view don'tcha think?

If something is curable and you CHOOSE not to cure it would you say that is very smart?

I suppose there could be some dumb in ignorance. Thing is, at least from what I can see, for many people, ignorance is self-induced. They seem to be happy in that state of mind. I personally love to learn. Something new every day if possible. :)

I am guilty of that ru. I love to learn to but only what I WANT. The rest of it? Who cares?

Example. I am very ignorant about state-of-the=art technology. I tune out when people try to educate me. I am not interested in learning about things I don't want don't need won't use. Now look at ignorance as if it were a disease. Someone offers me a cure and I reject it. That isn't very smart. Is that the same as being very dumb? I'm gonna ask. If so I'm guilty. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday to you! :) This post was edited by RosieG at September 20, 2019 7:34 AM MDT

Same with me. I learn what I want to learn but then I also learn what I need to learn, whether I want to or not, to fulfill obligations and to function in specific areas that I'm involved in. Speaking only for myself here, if I am offered a cure, knowing that it is a bonafide cure that would make things much easier in my life and to see the truth of the matter, and I reject it, that would be a stupid move on my part. :)

Precisely! I can't tell you how often Jim will try to explain something to me that is important to him that I understand but not important to me. So I try to be patient and appear to be interested when all I want is for him to go to other things. It's just how I'm wired. If I AM interested I go to great lengths to learn as much as I can. But if I'm not it's hard for me to pretend because that's no different from lying and I'm not a liar. Thank you for your reply. If you are talking about a cure for your back problems of course I'd be right there too. If you can "cure" pain and don't you're a masochist or stupid! :) Thank you for your reply ru! :) This post was edited by RosieG at September 20, 2019 10:51 AM MDT
