No, it was earlier because I was in my apartment in Bensenville, Illinois with my then roommate/man. We lived there until 19 oh crap. Now I cannot remember. I THINK we lived there until about early 90's so you are right maybe. Way later than I first thought though. Much closer to the 90's if not in the 90's. Too lazy to look. LOL
I admit had no answer for any of three categories.
I've looked and listened a bit to all of the posts here - - great stuff!! Many here have reminded me of car things I like, songs ,etc. i need to come back and listen some more.
Here's the closest I've come on my own to an answer.
John Steinbeck's novel "The Grapes of Wrath" -- characters travel in a car for a while.
(After I read the book I saw the movie -- supposedly a classic movie -- but after that novel, that movie was an extreme let down for me. Extremely. I'm surprised that movie hasn't been redone and been more faithful to the book, the ENTIRE book.)
