Mince meat pie...disgusting.  Most pecan pie is not so good either.  Keep stuffing with oysters away from me, Ugg just the thought makes me cringe.  The only thing I eat that shimmies before it is cooked is eggs.

WHAT?  I like both but certainly NOT together.  I can't even imagine having oysters included anywhere in a Thanksgiving dinner.  Granted, they may have in the original dinner but not what I grew up with.
I totally agree with your "Yuck."

But those are all delicious! Though I seldom eat meat on occasion I will have some of someone's mince pie. Very rich and sweet. Same for pecan pie in my experience.  Love oysters most ways.  Yes oyster stuffing is quite popular.

Those are delicious TO YOU. Everyone has the right to decide which foods are delicious and which are not, based on personal opinion. If you like something, consider it delicious, it doesn’t mean everyone else or anyone else has to also.

Exactly right!  Now you know some of what I like as well as some of what I don't.

I can understand.  Many people don't like either of those items.  I do.

I was excited to try mince meat pie. I had never heard of it until I was older.  A new pie....yay! Then I tasted it.....then I understood why I have never heard of it.

    I am cracking up!
Many, many, many, in fact, more people I know do NOT like mincemeat pie.
I'm sure I don't have to tell you the origin of mincemeat.  That part within itself used to gross me out.
BUT, when my mom makes it, she uses spices and fruit, no meat involved.
Served with warmed hard sauce, it is delicious.
Granted, it is full of cholesterol and nothing about it is good for you.  Its pungent flavor is an acquired taste and one only surrounded by the holiday. I think that is one of the reasons I like it.

I am sure yours is awesome. But I have never found anything with cranberries that I like.

I love pure cranberry juice.  It's quite expensive but I like a small glass with about four sweetnlows in it.  Very good us.

I may try it sometime. Your list of things you do not like gives me hope, we may agree.

Cranberries stored become very sour so in making sauce people tend to add lots of sweeteners which I think ruins it.  Fresh cranberries when you pick them from the bogs are like tangy little apples.  Cranberries I think go better with savory dishes.

Anything with marshmallows in it.  I am not a big fan.  This would include yams and deserts.
I like yams and love deserts that aren't too sweet. This post was edited by Merlin at October 18, 2019 9:54 PM MDT

My sister-in-law used to put marshmallows in her candied yams. Yuck. When I bake apple pie I use half the sugar. It tastes like apples. Yum.

I am not a big fan of pumpkin pie.  But I do have a reciepe for an Ice Cream Pumpkin pie that has become a tradition at my house...replacing regular pumpkin pie.   I go heavy on the spice though. So still prob not your style.  :)

I've only had one pumpkin pie that was exceptional.  It was made by a roommate who turned out to be an evil thief and a rotten person.
