Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» 95-year-old Jimmy Carter fell again and broke something. His pelvis bone. I dunno. Mebbe he should cut back a bit and rest?
He always seems to me to be a good man. A perfect man? No. A perfect president? No. But a good man at heart? Yes, I believe so. He has lived a remarkably full life and from what I understand has tried along the way to give back as he has been given. I wish him well. Not too long ago I believe he was battling brain cancer, something which took the life of Senator McCain. Mr. Carter I'm sure is thankful for his blessings. We should all be. How much time he has left no one can say but I believe he has earned the right to slow down and find peace not in moments of accomplishment but rather in moments of rest. We all deserve that sometimes. I agree with you, Rosie. I hope he can enjoy his remaining time on this Earth and when he passes on I pray he hears these words..."Well done, my good and faithful servant...enter thou into the joy of the Lord." (Matthew 25:23)

This is an incredibly lovely touching and most beautiful reply. You elevated my simple question into something worthwhile for which I thank you Halloweenie. I agree with every word you wrote. I think his greatest value came after he was no longer president. He has done so much trying to broker peace, building homes for Habitat for Humanity, showing kindness and goodness. We lack that these days. You are a very dear person for writing this. I wish President Carter and his wife could see it and read itand know how much people admire and respect him. Happy Tuesday to thee m'dear! :)
I agree. As I've aged Zack I notice I have a problem with balance. Jim does too which was made worse after he had a stroke. I have to walk deliberately and slowly and PURPOSEFULLY. If I move too fast I tilt. Now I'm almost 82 and Jimmy Carter is 95! I think he needs to be VERY cautious careful deliberate. I admire him bigly. Would like him to last forever or at least as long as his body functions well. Thank you for your reply and Happy Tuesday! :)
