According to my parents and grandparents, they all got through the 'Great Depression'  fairly well off. Grandpa had a house painting business that traveled the state and catered to the wealthy. (his crew kept a President's mansion looking good) 

I saw the Hunger Games a long time ago now, and I thought, it looks like a good depiction of the FUTURE,  A TERRIFYING look at the future.

Well, the FUTURE IS NOW. And this is the BAD OLD DAYS.
