A recent poll shows that a majority of people don't think Trump should be impeached.

And unlike some who cite polls on here, I am providing the link: https://www.monmouth.edu/polling-institute/reports/monmouthpoll_us_110519/

Is impeachment dependent on polls or facts? Is impeachment and conviction the Democrats' only hope of preventing four more years of Trump in the White House?

The Monmouth poll had other interesting findings as well, which I will not try to use in the name of anti- or pro-Trump hyperbole (rare on this site, I know), but will leave to the reader's interpretation.

I don't really know much about the different polls but I read, just in the past few days, that the Monmouth polls have quite an accurate polling history.

    Polls,... yeah.
Did Monmouth actually poll “a majority of [the] people”?
Did they poll you, or me, or anyone we know?

I suggest the answers to your questions and mine are the same.

Some other recent polls showed a higher percentage of people favor impeachment than got Trump elected.

Any value in that? Color me skeptical.

Depends on which poll you believe.

Most of the polls that I've seen show the majority support impeachment but are split on removal from office.

  • There is a poll for every confirmation bias.  This is why polls are basically worthless and pointless to cite in a conversation.

A recent poll says you are in a daze of confusion and just want attention.  As usual.  In the face of reality, you want to cling to one accurate poll.  How accurate is something like a thermometer that depends on which way the wind blows?  It is blowing BLUE and no poll can thwart that reality.

YOU JUST WANT ATTENTION.  Fine.  Bring it.

A recent poll. Here is what your poll means to us. NOTHING.  A recent ELECTION that is going on cites that Trump is losing every which way he can lose.  And impeachment?  That is the least of his problems.  He is going to be voted out and on his own.  That is what the REALITY is showing not your poll.  Who cares what polls say?  They change every minute and the polls are in the favor of Dems all over the board.

Your fake news and your one poll fly in the face of booing.  He has been booed at two sporting events. How's for that poll?  How about that one? REALITY?  Real people who are not his base. REAL people are gonna throw this bum out on his fat lard butt.

The truth will set you free and the pole belongs up Trump's sphincter muscle. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at November 7, 2019 9:00 AM MST

And how is this poll any less accurate than the ones you and Rosie cite? Are only the ones for which you like the findings accurate? Bet you won't answer that, because you usually don't have an answer when faced with facts that contradict your anti-Trump-hyperbole-every-day-and-twice-on-Sunday agenda.

I'm sure it is accurate. I seldom cite them.  If I do?  It is for some point, god knows what.  But I don't really care about those polls all that much.  They scare me.  Either way.  I do like FACTS.   And the FACT is that Trump is losing the country right now. I have listened to the news and more and more and more and more people who were once TRUMPISTS are leaning towards seeing the evidence first before they decide. So that poll of yours may not have taken the NOT YET but maybe consideration.

They don't know YET what I DO KNOW. They will and so will you during the next year.  It will be a bloody battle and people are sick of it and want him OUT.  That is the only poll you need to know.  TRUST SHARON.

The poll is the equivalent of asking whether most people in the continental US think it was too cold or too hot in September, 2019---the results have no real value.

Two centuries ago, 1816 became the year without a summer for millions of people in parts of North America and Europe, leading to failed crops and near-famine conditions.

I'm guessing that if polls had been ubiquitous in the spring of 1816, a large percentage of the people in the Northern Hemisphere would have said that they thought that temperatures should and will rise in the next four to five months---(unfortunately, they were totally unaware of the effects of the volcanic eruption of Mount Tambora in Indonesia in April 1815, which spewed millions of tons of dust, ash and sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere, temporarily changing the world's climate and dropping global temperatures by as much as 3 degrees.)

So for me, the poll only demonstrates that the majority of people (I.e., Trump supporters) don't really understand yet the seriousness of what Trump has done and is still doing.

(Whether Trump supporters actually understand what types of changes volcanoes can effect is still unknown.)
