    I suppose they could. As long as tax money isn't used. Most people I know couldn't care less about an old rusty ship. I heard the movie was incredibly boring.

    Do you have any idea how much that wreckage would weigh if it were completely intact?

    But after all this time the wreckage is probably too unstable to bring to the surface, even if practical, or even possible, let alone transport it to terra firma. Best to leave it right where it is.

    I agree.  I think they would have brought it up if they could have.  It's apparently dissolving every day at a pretty rapid rate now.  At least they brought up the artifacts that were down there.  I have seen them on display and they really do make you think of what was lost there.

    Yes, I've read it has become more and more unstable as each years passes. (Related to the equivalent to "underwater disintegrating" or whatever. Or maybe it was the fungi eating away at the boat itself.)

    He does look good here!

    (The absolute best I've seen him act in a movie is "What's Eating Gilbert Grape." He's phenomenal in his portrayal of the younger brother of Johnny Depp.)
