I am against the introduction of our equivalent to your patriot/freedom act, which is nicknamed the "snoopers charter." I have nothing against spying on the communications of those suspected of a possible offence, but I believe it is going too far to spy on law-abiding citizens. If the measures we take to try to combat terrorism take away the very freedoms we are supposed to be defending, what is the point?

I can't answer that question HarryD. I do object to the government telling me what I can do with my body based on some perverted Politicians' obsession with how the female body works. But I don't have a problem if folks listen in or read what I write. I am not  plotting against anyone. I am proud to be an American. What do I have to fear? I understand it is the principle of invasion of privacy that we are talking about here but anyone who gets on the internet must know that the expectation of privacy does not exist. Same thing with telephone communication. I know. It's complicated. Thank you for your thoughtful reply! :)
