What comes to mind when I say "Paul McCartney"?

I suppose many would think of one of his great songs.

And I suppose many would think of a visual image of how he looks recently.

And I suppose many would think of a visual image of how he looked in the early Beatles days.

But I don't. Do you know what I think of? The name "Paul McCartney", and what comes to my mind?

HIS CHAMP BEARD!! Just look at how much of a CHAMP he looks with a beard.

LET'S GO CHAMP!!

Well, the first thing I thought of just now is how stupidly he quickly married after his wife died.  It proved to be such a costly mistake.    I don't know why that came to mind but it did.  I don't even keep up with celebrity news but I did hear about it when it was going on.  If he reconciled with  her and is living happily ever after please ignore my answer.  :)

I want to hold you hand, Mr. B.  Don't be a grump. :)

Aside from his many great songs, his activism on behalf of non-human animals comes to mind.

He was the only Beatle who played left-handed.

Ringo Starr is a left-handed drummer. But he plays on a right-hand drum kit.

When I think of Paul McCartney, I want to tell him to please let his hair go gray.  The reddish brown hair dye don't do it for him.

Loved his solo career in the early 70's, but felt he really sucked in the 80's, especially with all the dumb duets he started doing with other famous stars.  "Ebony and Ivory" has to be the worst song he ever done.  I was embarrassed for him and Stevie Wonder.

Oh, what Thrifty said too.  I was disappointed to see him marry so quickly after Linda who seemed to be the love of his life.  I was equally disappointed when it was reported how badly he treated the second wife.  Hopefully he's got that part ironed out.

All and all, he was a great musician that contributed much to the music world.

I got so tired of British accents that I stopped listening in 1966.

I never knew that, righty. I always thought they were all right-handed except Paul. To think, I've liked the Beatles for at least 50 years now. Lol:)

Still entertaining.   Amazing piece of history.  Musical historical icon.  Madly talented.

You think "Ebony And Ivory" is the worst song he's ever done? What about this?

    Or this?

Wings were good. How can you say these songs are dross?

    And the great Wings masterpiece

In an era dominated mainly by disco and teenybop music, the chart success of Wings proved that some of us had taste.

Yeah, me too. They brought out most of their best music while I was in school and lots of us liked them. The first Wings single I bought was "Helen Wheels" just before I was 12. I still love it to bits now at the age of 54.

You and I are around the same age and yes, that music sure puts a pleasant time stamp on things.

Probably the first songs I remember and loving were Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey and Another Day.  There were so many.  Live and Let Die and Band on the Run were great classics.

There were so many of them. Even Americans were singing with British accents.
