I hate going to the doctor. I will wait until I cannot stand it another second and then I go, usually to the emergency room. I don't trust doctors. Sorry, I don't. There are many good doctors out there, but I have met many bad ones as well.
I try and avoid doctors and hospitals like the plague and take care of myself.
I know myself pretty well, so if something is bothering me, I wait a week or two and if it's still bothering me, I will make a doc appointment. Most of the time, it clears up on its own. I would do anything not to wind up in the emergency room.
Got it. Me too L. When I took Fosamax to keep my bones strong there was a ton of possible side effects. Temporary pain here and there...short-lived was one of them. I'd check that list to see if what I was experiencing was on it and if it was no big deal. In fact every weird pain in one place or another was on that list. Also from chemo I got neuropathy on both feet. I've lived with numbness since 2008 and it never hurts. It's just numb. I just wish that what we take for one thing didn't create side effects so we'd have to take another thing. I mean where does it end? But when I saw lightning strikes in my left eye I waited only a day and on a Sunday I called the Kaiser Help Line available 24/7. Talked to a nurse who told me to get to the nearest Kaiser immediately. Those lightning strikes I saw were comparable to a heartache in my eyes. So we sped to Kaiser Riverside ON A SUNDAY and I told the gal at the desk what the problem was. You will not believe this. But it happens that an eye surgeon was there for some other reason and within an hour he was doing laser surgery on that eye! I have some vision loss but if I'd waited it would have gotten far worse. So something I think our bodies let us know if something is serious. Thank you for your reply m'dear! :)
