    Good morning Rosie...

I don't think one leads to the other, its an "either, or".

When trying to level a playing field, you can either lift yourself up Or bring others down.

When you do the latter, its because you cannot do the former.

Bringing someone else down does not raise you up.

Absolutely true.  I can always tell a weak person by how they talk about others; especially when they talk about the ones they have little or no interaction with.

Thank you for your reply des. It may not lift you up in theory but it certainly does in practice. I give you  Donald J. Trump as the prime current example. He decimated his competitors (all 16 of them) by insulting them, attacking them, telling lies about them. The result is that he is the Republican nominee for prez. Now his supporters adore him and everyone else abhors him. His adorers see him as some kind of superhero who will protect them and take care of them. The rest of us know better. In his eyes he is looking down on all the people he tore down. In his supporters  eyes no one can match  him for greatness. It  is illusory to be sure but what difference does it make if he is elected prez des? Thank you for your thoughtful answer m'dear and Happy Saturday! :)

W I agree with one exception. Politicians. They are out there theoretically working on behalf of we the people but practically they are working for themselves and their contributors. We don't know them personally nor have any interaction with them but we are at their mercy. We PAY their salaries. They are OUR employees but they do not treat us with respect or consideration. They legislate. That involves us because it affects us. One would have to be deaf, dumb and blind to be unaware that they do not work FOR us. They often work against us. That requires attention and pointing out. In my opinion. Thank you for your reply PeaPod.
