I have tasted deer meat once in my life and it was marinated in wine and it was very good.  It was not a Caribou.

My son-in-law bagged two white-tails this year. Cheapskate usually gives me a bag of sausage...not this year.

What a stingy jerk. I would give you anything you wanted, if you were in my family because you are a giver.  He's nuts.  You are also sensitive and won't forget this slight, I imagine.  I wouldn't.  Screw that guy. LOL (Scorpios)

You set it up.  You are passive aggressive.  You made it sound like he was stingy.  No sticking up for you again.

That is what men are like when they fight over murdered animal organs.  I should never have allowed myself into this fight.

Did that deer care that it rained?  Did he fear the rain more than a ghost?  Did he care about a boo?

Reindeer and caribou are the same animal (Rangifer tarandus) and are a member of the deer family. In Europe, they are called reindeer. In North America, the animals are called caribou if they are wild and reindeer if they are domesticated.

I once had Rangifer tarandus...but a shot of antibiotics cleared it right up.

Not really.  They are cousins.  Reindeer are smaller and more domesticated.  Nor do reindeer migrate like their cousins, the caribou.

Sounds like a weather related issue.

Very tasty id done right.  I got my Deer (hirsch) this year however, part of my civic duty.  If one has a Jaegers License one must thin the deer herds.

Now going on a Caribou Hunt for me would entail a trip to Canada. A reindeer Roast a trip to Radatz (local high end meat market)

Our white-tails have become pests, as there are few predators. Many are killed by cars around here. I saw three this morning on our way to work.

A stat for you to back up your claim; In Wisconsin last year there were 20,000 plus car deer crashes - some had fatalities, Minnesota similar numbers,  Now drive I80 from the Morristown to Youngstown you cannot go a mile w/o seeing a dead deer on the road.

Tell me again why these folks are against hunting and Doe permits

Because it would sound stupid if you sang, "Rudolph, the red nosed caribou..."
