'LES DEPLORABLES!' Trump floors cheering Miami crowd as he enters to Broadway anthem and speaks in front of giant 'Les Mis' video screen art

Donald Trump unveiled a new visual campaign theme in Miami on Friday – a mashup of the Broadway musical 'Les Misérables' and an epithet Hillary Clinton leveled at his supporters one week ago.

He took the stage, introduced by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, as the 'Les Mis' anthem 'Do You Hear the People Sing' blasted through loudspeakers.

The video screen behind the podium flashed to an artistic rendering of 'Les Deplorables,' complete with USA and 'Trump' flags replacing the French colors, and a bald eagle soaring over the revolutionary scene.

'Welcome to all of you deplorables!' Trump boomed as thousands screamed 'Trump! Trump! Trump!' and 'We love you!'

About six months or so ago I began to warn the Trump obsessed that their continued, Nazi-esque derision and dehumanization of his supporters would backfire on them in a big way.  You're only seeing the beginning of the groundswell now.

    Hello N:

Well, to ME, a guy who LIES to the American people for 5 years about our first black president, then admits it, and doesn't apologize for it, is a pretty miserable fellow.  His supports, who give him a pass on it are pretty damn deplorable too..

What lie did he tell?  Got link?

When did he admit what he said was a lie?  Got link?

Your need to vilify and/or 'other' your political opposition has been well established.

  • This is what happens when leftist shaming tactics backfire.

Shaming tactics only work on people who care how they are perceived by you and desire your respect. It usually works on small groups who feel alone in their views. Though as a movement grows a tipping point is reached when being shamed becomes a badge of honour that people embrace. The more you insult us, the more anger you are generating, and the more determined we are to resist you and take society back.

I note (with some irony) that you make NO claim about the correctness (either empirical or moral) of your desire to "...resist [leftist shamers] and take society back."

So long as you have a bunch of good little Nazis on your side, you feel righteous regardless...;-D...

  • You have no evidence that he lied. He may have just changed his mind.

Obama deserves no apology. Apologize for what? Obama is not entitled to respect. He is just a servant. The people of the U.S. are the master.

    Hello N:

I'm glad you have my needs figured out.  By vilify, if you mean I kick ass, you got it..  If you mean I denigrate people or call them names, you ain't paying attention..  I don't like you..  But, I ain't gonna call you names..  I think our last disagreement was about this very thing...  You don't understand words very well..

So, Obama WAS born in the US, or he WASN'T..  Trump held BOTH positions..  On its face, ONE of 'em is a LIE.

    Hello AS:

I agree.  She can vilify Trump all she wants, but she should leave his supporters alone.

    1) Correction: I have only one of your needs figured out.  Your need to vilify anyone who doesn't agree with you is crystal clear.  You are also not alone in this need.  That for which you may not have been prepared, however, is the presence of a person who is not intimidated by you.

    2) If by "kick ass" you mean flame the opposition, my fifteen year old niece is a better kicker. :-)

    3) I don't care if you like me, Ex.  If anything I'd be HONORED by the fact.  I take pride in the enemies I keep.

    4) I understand words perfectly well--including passive aggressive (but nonetheless limp) attempts at flaming.

    5)  Barack Obama is president of the United States. He has BEEN the president of the United States for nearly eight years.  Where he was born is IRRELEVANT.  Get this!

Edit: perhaps what has your panties in a bunch is the fact that liberals/the MSM got played by Trump the other day.  Don't blame me for that, sir.  I know you NEED a bogeyman, but I'm not it.

ROTFLMAO!  (Posted 2011...seriously?)  "So the liberal-leaning Public Policy Polling outfit posed a revealing question to Mississippi Republicans in their latest survey: "Do you think interracial marriage should be legal or illegal?" The only thing 'revealing' here is the clearly stated BIAS of both pollster and referent.

    Ahem.

Conservatives, much as I might revile their political stance on, well, pretty much everything, aren't the ones currently employing Nazi-esque tactics.  What your heroine sought to accomplish via her 'basket of deplorables' comment is EXACTLY the kind of strategy which national socialists employed against German Jews. First came the ostracism, vilification and marginalization. Then came the dehumanization. Then came the death camps.

  • Obviously both sides feel righteous in their convictions. I find the left completely morally bankrupt on most issues.

I'm a British guy who has never visited Mississippi. I don't know whether your statistics about interracial marriage opposition are accurate. I doubt it. Though I don't care whether it's true or not. It's no threat to individual rights since marriage is not a right. I seriously doubt that any such a law would ever pass.  My priorities are elsewhere. There are far more important things to deal with. I consider those kind of views to be just ignorant. I consider leftism to be an existential threat to civilization.

I'm an individualist. I don't think collectively. You're projecting your collectivist mentality onto me. I don't feel associated with people who happen to support the same candidate I do. The right wing is a diverse group. We are united only by not wanting to be gang raped by leftists.

    Hello again, N:

He LIED.  But you don't think it's relevant, therefore it's NOT a lie...  See???  I don't like what you do with words.  You don't understand what they mean...  I can't argue with someone who doesn't know what words mean...

    Later, Dude.

"He LIED.  But you don't think it's relevant, therefore it's NOT a lie...  See??? "

LOL!  I 'see' nothing of the kind.  I'm not trying to make a mountainous issue out of a conspiratorial (first launched/hatched by DEMOCRATS) molehill.  Be that as it may, everyone lies--especially politicians.  REGARDLESS of where he was born, Obama is the president. REGARDLESS of what conspiracy theorists (or Democrats) have to say abut it, Obama is the president.  ANY and ALL questions relating to his place of birth are now....I.R.R.E.L.E.V.A.N.T.!

"I don't like what you do with words."

And I do not CARE!  GET THIS!  (Still, I do see your point: I construct coherent thoughts, premises and opinions using grammatically correct sentences, paragraphs, etc. AND I...gasp! use the dictionary to do it!  Worse, I don't use inflammatory rhetoric/epithets to castigate the opposition unless those epithets DIRECTLY and SPECIFICALLY APPLY!! Oh how heinous of me! LOL!)

         "I can't argue ..."

I am fully aware of this, 'dude.' :-)

All I can tell for sure, Ex, is that you've failed at the puerile attempt to make me the topic of conversation.  That might not be a 'personal attack,' but it's textbook ad hominem.
