Some does ,most doesn't Rosie.....I just try to reach out to all audiences and share my fun around....humour is pointless if not under stood ,un less it's being used as a put down ....... Most people that consider themselves supperior or aloof are the easiest to belittle with humour....
You should never cross swords verbally with a quick witted person....
Different humour reaches out to different people... We don't have to like or understand it all....it's handy if you do though....lol
One man's humor is another man's wound D. What may seem to be clever to the sayer might well draw blood in the receiver. There is no way to decide what's right or what's wrong because one's nature and experiences differ from all others. What you may find raucously hilarioius may hurt me. It is not for you to judge what I find funny. That's where people get confused and lose their way. One size does not fit all. There is an audience for everything I expect. If you find your audience all is well. You can't always tell in advance how something you intended is received. Intentions matters of course. But the result is really all that counts isn't it? What a wonderful way to explain it Rosie.... i think people can tell if the things you say are meant to be hurtful though and some will still kick off ,just for the sake of it ,or to create a scene
Hey! It's not my fort I'm stupid and don't sea the funny side of people ridiculing dumb blondes....Ok we were put on this world for some reason and it ps just that science ain't managed to work it out yet....

Humor is a very complex human behavior affected by all sorts of personal and cultural factors.
For example, I once watched the movie "Dumb and Dumber" from start to finish. When it started, I found most of the humor unfunny and cringe-inducing. By the end of the movie, it had somehow won me over and I was laughing quite enjoyably.
However, every time I've tried to watch parts of it since that first viewing, it mostly just annoys me. There are a few classic bits in it that stand the test of time, but most of the jokes just fall flat for me.
Did my IQ change over the viewing of the movie (and then change back subsequently)? Or is there some more complex mental phenomenon at work? I strongly suspect the latter..
No, I'm just saying I don't have that many IQ points to spare. If watching the movie was taking them away, I'd rapidly be overdrawn at the intelligence bank...
I don't think there is a direct link at all, as humour is very much a matter just of taste.
However, there is a lot of wit, rather than direct jokes, to be found that needs a reasonable degree of intelligence or general-knowledge to appreciate fully. The humour here is often allied to successfully cracking some problem or other: crossword puzzles often provide examples in their clues you've managed to solve, but these are riddles, not jokes in the "This bloke and his dog walk into a pub..." vein.
There is also a rich seam of wit in specialist areas, such as the more technical professions, sports or hobbies; aimed at and understood fully only by those activities' adherents - "in-jokes", if you like. A lot of that, commonly as cartoons in the appropriate magazines, is quite self-deprecating, too.
In certain professions that do also need a lot of skill and training so call for a fair IQ as well as other qualities like courage, the work humour can be very "black", appalling to outside audiences, but as a way of coping with desperately unpleasant situations.
A lot of so-called "rugby songs" are in that mould, and originated in the barrack-rooms and Trenches of WW1 where for the first time troops from all backgrounds were thrown together. Some of these rank-and-file soldiers had had formal, literary public-school* educations unwittingly enabling them to create pornographic but very dark satire, often parodies of popular songs of the time. So these songs may be amusing in their own ways and contexts, but were the products of highly-intelligent, highly- albeit narrowly- educated, minds.
