Allegedly 34% of voters will vote for deadhead NO MATTER WHAT and 48% will VOTE AGAINST DEADHEAD NO MATTER WHAT! How can he win?

Dumb question. By CHEATING AGAIN OF COURSE AS HE CHEATED HIS WAY IN THE FIRST TIME. Sheesh.

The poll numbers I heard were closer.
    Something like 46% vs 48%.

Of course, there is the fact that around 1/3 of eligible voters don't vote ... as well as the fact that the popular vote doesn't elect the President.

That second fact may change, if enough states pass legislation to tie their Electoral College to the national popular vote, rather than the state popular vote.

41% will stick with deadhead no matter what. How that squares with  34% or 46% or 48% I have no idea. His bedrock is rock solid rockhead. They will go to HE** and beyond with him. How many of the others are flexible I have no idea. Thank you for your reply Walt. Pick a poll you like. There are tons of 'em! :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 19, 2019 12:08 PM MST

If he wins, it will be because of the Electoral College.  It is high time to disband it and have the president chosen by a majority of the citizens, not by the delegates to the Electoral College.  At the very least, EC votes should be cast so they represent the popular vote - not all or nothing.

As noted by others, the Electoral College greatly magnifies the effects of voting in certain key "swing" states.

Arguably, Donald Trump's margin of victory in 2016 was about 70,000 votes in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and so forth. Move those 70k votes to HRC's tally, and she's our current President.

Keep in mind that 70,000 votes in an election where 130 million people voted is almost statistical noise.

This is, of course, exactly as the political right wants and, in fact, have made efforts to magnify in recent years (with proposals to have EC votes allocated by counties within states and so forth).
