Ever hear of "EDSCOTITE"? A rare form of iron carbide never found in nature before. From whence did it come?

It exists within the Wedderburn meteorite. What else is out there somewhere waiting to be discovered?

    They say there is only 100 or so elements out there in space and it's the same for every planet....how on earth can we say that if no one been to any far off planets...the Milky Way is two hundred light years wide ,how will it ever be possible to visit even one of the :(

    Maybe it's a good thing we will never discover more elements Rosie.....I'm sure some of the things if found would be used more in making more distructive weaponry before put to better humane uses....

    I had never heard of it until now. After reading the article I found, it appears to be from the core of a planet the exploded who knows how long ago. It can be found in iron slag during the smelting process, but that is not naturally occurring. I imagine it can found in the core of our planet.
