The day after Christmas is eating leftovers day. Either you cooked or you brought home some food from where you were. What's on your menu?

If you roasted the turkey maybe you're making turkey soup?

If you did ham maybe it will be ham sandwiches?

If you something maybe it will be that.

Or maybe you'll do takeout and deal with leftovers tomorrow.

In any case happy eating! :)

I cannot name how many different kinds of dishes we had yesterday.  And, after serving over 24 people (plus giving them plates of food to take home), there wasn't that much left.  However, whatever remained At the end of the day waswas divided between the 3 main families (the famous - "get it out of my house" ritual, performed by my overly health conscious sister).  The remnants were lined up on the counter, and as each item was pointed to, each family said whether they wanted it or not.  If no one else wanted a particular item, that family got it all.  Otherwise it was divided between whoever wanted it.  If no one wanted it  it went back to the one who brought it.

I went home with - turkey (all the brown meat and some of the white  - about 2 pounds), several slices of ham, 1/3 can of cranberry sauce, 1 batch of dinner rolls, 1-1/2 cups of macaroni salad, 1/2 a lemon meringue pie, 1/4 of a cherry pie, 6 cupcakes, 1/4 bag of tortilla chips, and 1/2 can of peanuts.   Healthy - no.

I knew you and your family were going to have a GRAND FEAST Shuhak based on what you were bringing. You got the moist part of the turkey..dark meat..my personal favorite. Now in the technical sense of "healthy" perhaps some of those dishes don't rate tops. On the other hand it is ONCE A YEAR and celebrates traditions we've experienced through our entire lives. Precious memories. I say the health factor can be set aside for one day or a few days of cleanup. Get right back on that track after the first of the year and be very good for many months. Thank you for sharing in such detail what you're feasting on today Shuhak. That was superduper of you. I know you'll space it out and pace yourself. I don't have dumb friends. You'll enjoy it and remember fondly the day and who made it. All good. :)

I mostly ate plant-based sandwiches yesterday and a few mashed potatoes and some frozen (not homemade) vanilla cheesecake from Fry's grocery store.  I was content.  I was on here and cleaned a house that needed it.  It doesn't take much to amuse me.

Sounds like a nice day to me Sharon. I know it snowed in Flagstaff yesterday. Pictures were shown and it was breathtaking. Phoenix? Well with some imagination I can visualize your looking out at the snow. We spent a very quiet day. Pleasant and calm. On to next year. What will it bring? GAWD only knows! Thank you for your reply and the lovely graphic and Happy Thursday! :)
