What proof do you have that life on this planet originated with a single event or point and that all subsequent life forms came forth from that single event or point? The Bible opens the door to the possibility that even human life started with more than Adam and Eve. (Just where did Cain's wife come from?)

Look for yourself. DNA evidence all points to a very close relationship between all human beings, (all one species, all one race), with a common ancestor originating from Africa some few hundred thousand years ago. Very little, if any, evidence supports Genesis as anything more than a mythological version of human origins.

Thank you for the implied "atta girl Rpf. So many people are so ignorant about the origins of humans. It should embarrass them but I think they aren't knowledgeable  enough to recognize that. You're the one that needs to take a look. (You should really try to have some understanding of a subject before you try to use it to form an argument.)

96% of the DNA you refer to (actually 98.5% of the actual, "working" DNA)  making us "common" is also "common" between chimpanzees and humans. Perhaps you think, incorrectly, that humans "evolved" from that different species. Even mice and humans share about 97.5% of their "working DNA. (Seems that a LOT of the DNA in most, if not all species has no known function.)

As to all (human) life originating in in Africa . . . that's a common postulation based on the very, VERY limited "information" we have so far. Nothing found yet excludes life as we currently define it (human or otherwise) from having also originating elsewhere on the planet.

As to Genesis . . . I wasn't making an argument for the Bible as you ignorantly seem to think. I was merely pointing out that it too opens the possibility of multiple origins of life, particularly human life.

You've got to read more than magazines with titles that start with the word "Popular" and you've got to open your mind to have even a prayer of understanding the world around you and how it got to where it is.
