    If you like beer, there are at least 3 breweries in Oregon City. 

    That's not as much fun as this little hamlet in Austria, but it is something...

    If you're talking about mass-market lagers  (Budweiser, Coors, Miller Lite, etc.), you are absolutely correct (and I'm familiar with the joke, too...)

    But we live in a golden age of amazing beers from many breweries. I suspect what you'll find in Oregon City is quite passable.
