What is it about washing (shampooing) their hair that makes it such a big deal to women, such a production?

Not big deal for me. I do not use shampoo. It is bad for hair. It dries it out by removing the natural oils your hair needs.

What do you use instead?  And does it take you take 20 years to wash it?

Conditioner. It cleans it and keep it soft and silky. It amazed my husband when I told him I was not using shampoo anymore. I did not tell him for about 6 months. I wanted to know it was working first.

I did use shampoo once while visiting my parents about a year ago. I forgot to pack any. And my parents do not use it at all. It left my hair just dry and full of residue.

My hair is naturally curly and dry. I average washing once every 4-5 days in winter and 3 days in summer. (unless needed from an unexpected mess) This post was edited by my2cents at January 31, 2020 5:20 PM MST

  • I never make it a big deal.  I just wash my hair every morning with baby shampoo.  Works out well for me.

    1. When you have hair that is almost down to your waist it is a big long drawn out ordeal.  Just saying.  Or

    2. I think it is because they want to look good and keep our eyes drawn to a point higher than where we would normally stare Or

    3.  It is one of the few times they have the Bathroom totally to themselves to be non-disturbed for awhile

    The Choice is yours

I cannot imagine it being a big production.  It's just the last thing I do before I turn off the water in the shower.  I think most people do it first but I don't.....never have.  I actually know why but I will not bore you.

  • It's only a big deal when it is a big deal.

I used to be a hairdresser.  THEN it was a real production.
