Not really.  Sad, yes,but not shocking.  What's shocking is that although people clearly saw what they did, they'll re elect them anyway.

To them, country is merely something to exploit, and the constitution is outdated toilet paper.

I agree with Shuhak ... not shocking, to anyone who has paid attention to politics over the last 4 decades.
Nixon would not have been removed by impeachment, today.
Clinton probably would have though, due to the #metoo movement.

WHY? Clinton's sexual impropriety was with a WILLING ADULT. It was CONSENSUAL for crying out loud! How can that possibly be worthy of inclusion in ME TOO Walt? Surely you jest. I gotta ask. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday to thy.

For the same reason it's viewed as inappropriate for college professors to have consensual sex with their (adult) students.
There is the assumption that they used their authority to pressure the other person.

How many of the #metoo accused are accused of using their positions to pressure the victim - even though it was allegedly "consensual"?
Most of them, as I recall.  Few of them were outright forced rape.

I've never been in that situation Walt. There was one doofus "boss" who put his hand on my knee. And put a gift on my desk. I immediately reported it to the Personnel director and I was transferred out of that department to another section immediately. I hever saw him again. Subsequently soon thereafter I head about a local restaurant waitress complaining that he tried to sexually assault her. He was gone. What a jacka**!. I was in my mid-20's. I was married. Feeling pressured is bullsh** in my opinion. No job is worth it. Anyone who stays anyway deserves the consequences. I have no sympathy for that or them. Unless they are drugged they are in control if they want to be. So much for sympathy from me. Not gonna happen. Monica was as at fault as was randy bill. End of story. She played around with him and had to brag about it to a fink and that's why she got in that stink. It could have been avoided. She could have not bitten at whatever the lure was except she WANTED her lousy 15 minutes of fame with a celebrity. She got it. SIGH. Thank you for your reply Walt and Happy Monday! :)

Loyalty to the Constitution. It is the House's job to present their case. And that case should be ready before they get to the Senate.  And to make sure the act is impeachable.
It is NOT the Senate's job to investigate in the impeachment process.
