I have neither one so I don't know. Which hurts more? Getting a tattoo or having decorative metal that pierces your face?

Is the pain toleration level of those who have many tattoos everywhere on their bodies less? Do you have to be drunk to get a tattoo because it hurts less? I mean a needle in the body when you get an shot isn't ever really pleasant. To undergo hours of needles in the body seems really painful. Is it? And having a diamond stud on your tongue or cheek? It's very brave painwise I think. I'm a chicken so I would not voluntarily get holes poked in my body. No pierced ears.

For me it's pure fear of pain D. If I wouldn't want my ears pierced to wear all those beautiful delicate earrings I sure as he** won't poke holes in my body for any other reason either. When I see someone with tats all over the visible part of the body I wonder how anyone would be able to stand the pain they had to endure to get there? Are they on drugs to dull the pain or drunk as skunks or do some people just go to sleep with an anesthetic they're given so they don't feel anything? I've seen a small butterfly on an ankle. Very pretty. I've seen the names of their mates or kids delicately etched in their skin. A forever thing. Some of the artwork I wouldn't mind hanging on our wall it's so lovely. But my skin? I don't think so. Too chicken. Thank you for your reply! :)

I wear two rings. The one on my left hand from Jim of course and the one on my right hand my son gave to me decades ago. It is a sand dollar. We're both water signs. Well actually we're all water signs. Jim and I are both Scorpios and my son is a Pisces. We all love the ocean and my son moved to Honolulu in 2007 where he lives and teaches and I doubt he will ever leave. He loves to surf and what better place to do it? I don't wear earrings though when I was younger I'd wear small clipons to complement whatever I was wearing. I always wore my bracelet watch. I loved it. It felt like a loose bracelet on my wrist. I don't like anything choking me(did you ever wear a choker? AARRGGHH) anywhere...neck or finger or wrist or body. Thank you for your reply. The ring I have from Jim has no stones. It looks sparkly but that's because of the laser work. I LOVE it. I'm not a diamondy gal though I do love FIRE OPALS. My birth stone. They are breathtaking. I don't do gaudy or flashy or attention-getting. My style is the more invisible I am the more comfortable I am. :) This post was edited by RosieG at February 3, 2020 4:02 PM MST

American MINISTERS began doing what they do best. Trying to convert people to their beliefs. They BROUGHT DISEASE with them as well. Hats off to the religious zealots who ruin things for human beings. We're too old to travel any more. Five hours in a plane to get there isn't bad enough. Getting there (LAX is 100 miles away), parking, schlepping our bags on the jitney buses to the airline, waiting in line to check in, going through security, running to the right gate to catch a plane. Getting aboard and finding ALL OVERHEAD storage is loaded with the belongins of shelfish others. Getting there and getting to where you wanna go? Once there it's fine. But then you have to repeat the agony to get back home. Been there done that. Yep the AMERICAN religious folks screwed with the Queen. BAD BAD BAD men done her in. WHITE BAD CHRISTIAN men. Their pattern everywhere. Thank you for your reply D and Happy Tuesday to thee! :)

Precisely! But "they" truly believe they are doing GOD'S work to "save" the poor people from perdition. They never realize THEY are the perdition. Saving souls ostensibly while killing the people. Too self-righteous to realize what they do. Deaf dumb blind. SIGH. Thank you for your reply D and Happy Wednesday to thee! :)

It saddens me to think what our so called Roylty Did th the American ,Canadiain people that lived their lands before the English and French invaded them...The Spanish and Portuguese did the same in South America ...We did more in India,China,Australia ,New Zealand ,Africa and god knows where else.....
Why is it legal for a sovereign state to steal and rape  others lands and slaughter in the name of God and thing that moves or resists.....
We are all still doing it today.   It's still the man with the biggest gun that takes from others just what they want....
America dropped an atomic bomb on and atoll in the Pacific Ocean..people living on islands in the area are still being effected in the food that catch and radiation ...
How is this ever right or just...

It isn't honey. MIGHT MAKES RIGHT. POWER CORRUPTS. Homo saps are a very disappointing species what with hate lies betrayals cruelty venality present and apparently growing in depth strength. SIGH. It is. We know that. WHY it is? I just don't know D. Thank you for your thoughtful answer. There is no country anywhere without a history of inflicting misery I'm guessing. Maybe Switzerland? I dunno. Sometimes it seems hopeless that homo saps will ever live to their potential as a species. :(

Switzerland is one of the biggest arms manafactures in the world Rosie, either lake Lucerne or lake Lucarda was/is still a dumping ground for old munitions ,bombs shells ,bullets and God knows what else...pollution of the waters there have killed all the fish and aquatic life....They fear now something setting them off...
Im not sure if it's still true...but it use  be everyone over a certain and had to own a gun and be properly trained in using them....It also had the lowest gun related murders than any other country...

Getting a tattoo hurts more. Your skin is pierced repeatedly.

With a regular piercing it is a one and done.
