    Midterms the Presidential party almost always looses seats.  But we gained in the Senate.
    Only other first term Presidents to do that were  W Bush,  JFK and both Roosevelts since 1900. 

    The Pres party averages loosing 26 seats in the House and 6 in the Senate.
