EarthlingWise replied to What Was the Primary Cause of the War Between the States? References Please, keep it civil.:
Excuse me, but are you actually talking about border states? These were not part of what was called 'the North'.

EarthlingWise replied to What kind of exercise/ teaching approach do you./ did you like the most as a student? :
Thank you so much for your comprehensive answer, I so much agree with you and wish teachers could be allowed again to express what they are, kids actually appreciate that, as long as the person is genuine and committed.

EarthlingWise replied to Do you ever use anger to distract yourself from sadness?:
Anything that can attract my attention, get me back into the swing of things, is welcome, it can be a joke, a sensation, an emotion, it doesn't have to become irrational and fake.

EarthlingWise replied to It's certainly safer to speak in generalities figuratively rather than about specifics and reality. Which is more satisfying? Why?:
Some people are not able to see the pattern behind the specific case. It's good to go beyond an example, while of course remembering each problem has its specificity, its complexity.

EarthlingWise replied to What can prevent future terror attacks? Can they be prevented?:
I don't disagree with what you said, I was not particularly addressing one post,  just saying don't lull yourself into thinking the Anglo-Saxon model will protect you. People used to say Britain was spared because it was not as secular as the French ...  moreI don't disagree with what you said, I was not particularly addressing one post,  just saying don't lull yourself into thinking the Anglo-Saxon model will protect you. EarthlingWise replied to What can prevent future terror attacks? Can they be prevented?:
It had to do with your first post; whether the attacks come immigrants, foreigners, nationals, or veterans, no country is safe. And you guys seem to ignore the history of Europe, the aftermath of the colonial age. And you guys seem to ignore the history of Europe, the aftermath of the colonial age. People still mix up quite a lot in Europe, inter-cultural marriage is commonplace.

EarthlingWise replied to Trump questions bring out ALL the Trump Defenders en masse. Do they get paid to defend the great one? What would YOU charge? Why?:
I don't know, I see so much resentment in their words, what's the root of that rancour? It is so much like psychotic kids expressing their hatred towards parental figures.

EarthlingWise replied to Do you respect the customs of other countries and the people? Do you subscribe to "when in Rome do as the Romans do" or not? Because?:
I won't respect a custom that establishes an inferior status,  that hinders my freedom to move, to feel, to speak.
