   I suppose I have to represent for us step parents....  First, I was spanked by my stepmother and despite me hating being spanked she was a very good mother (I never knew my own) to me and now we are good friends.  On my own account, when I married Mick I knew he used corporal punishment on his 3 children and I supported him. But as primary care taker it was difficult for me with 3 "sudden" kids and they tested me often so it was on me to decide whether or not to tell their father.
   After several months our youngest asked if I could punish her rather than making her "wait until Daddy gets home."  After a long talk with Mick and then the children it was agreed I could spank for "minor" offenses - get it over with - but would still report major problems and let Mick handle their spankings.
