Is Revenge Sweet?

  • This posting is a poem written by a fellow Mugger...

    Is Revenge Sweet?

Sometimes getting revenge seems like the right thing to do.

To even the score for what someone has done to you.

When you've been wronged, you want to make them pay.

They had their moment and now you want your day.

Now you will spend time in devising just the right plan.

When the time is right, they will get to suffer at your hand.

By the thrill of this scheme you will get overcome.

As you want them to suffer a little worse than you have done.

You are looking to get the last laugh so you can laugh best.

So getting the sweetest revenge has become your self-constructed test.

You'll then find that right opening to set your plan into action.

And get to gloat with that awaited measure of satisfaction.

Now the shoe is on the other foot and its your turn to smile.

You get to enjoy watching them struggle in pain for a while.

But after you attain revenge, you won't feel you've come very far.

And as we take a closer look, you'll see you are just like they are.

Great poem and great message. Revenge is a tough one to pass up. But in the end, it isn't satisfying at all. I mean, not really.
